believe that they're real

chapter eight
-Sincerity-

I clutched Isaac's arm as we headed upstairs. What I wanted was to talk to Molly, but in the morning. When there was light coming in through the windows. Candlelight was just a little too creepy for me at the moment.

Isaac walked me to my bedroom, and after planting a soft kiss on my forehead, started to walk out the door. "Isaac? Think you could…Stay in here tonight?" I asked quietly. He turned around and looked at me, eyebrows raised. "No! Nothing like that! I'm just…Creeped out." I admitted.

"I can't really blame you. Some freaky shit is going on in this house." He looked at me (I was probably shaking with my eyes all wide), and smiled. "Let me go change into something more comfortable than a button-down shirt with a tie. I'll be right back." He said as he left the room.

"Shouldn't say that…Doesn't he watch horror movies?" I asked no one in particular as I quickly threw on a tank top and pajama pants. I blew out all the candles in the room, except for the one on my nightstand, and sat down on my bed, tossing my journal onto the floor and hugging my teddy bear close to my chest. Isaac returned moments later, wearing flannel pajama pants and a tank top that looked almost exactly like mine…Because I buy all my sleepwear in the men's department at Walmart, of course.

Isaac gestured for me to stand up, which I did. He wrapped his arms around me and stroked my hair. "It'll be okay, Sin. We're only here for a week. We'll be out of here soon, and then we can forget about all the creepiness."

"I know. It just…Sucks." I mumbled into his chest. He laughed and pulled away from me to give me a small kiss on the lips. He pulled the covers back on the bed, and gently pushed me back onto the bed. He pulled the covers around me and took the folded blanket from the end of the bed and began to unfold it. "Um, what are you doing?" I asked him.

"Sleeping on the floor?"

"What the fuck for? This is a huge bed." I laughed.

"I thought I'd be a gentleman." He smiled that adorable smile of his. "I didn't realize I had an invitation to sleep in the bed."

"Dude, Isaac…Chivalry is dead. Don't worry about it." I pulled the covers back for him. "Besides, it's cold. And also, I'm freaked out and need someone to cuddle with." He climbed into bed beside me, and I lay my head on his chest. "Do you think if we ignore all this crazy stuff, it'll go away?" I asked, half-joking, half-serious.

"Don't I wish." He replied before blowing out the last candle.

I awoke the next morning when Isaac moved me so he could get out of bed. Sunlight was shining through the window, and I rubbed my eyes as I sat up, yawning. "Morning." I smiled.

"Good morning to you, too. I'm going to go take a shower and get changed. Meet me downstairs for breakfast?" He held my hand for a moment before leaving the room.

I couldn't suppress the grin on my face as I stretched, pushing the covers off of me and throwing my legs over the bed. I changed into a pair of green capris and a black tank top, slipping my feet into a pair of black flip flops while I threw my hair up into a butterfly clip. I hummed a melody as I frolicked downstairs.

Zac was already in the kitchen, making a pot of coffee. "Morning, Sincerity."

"Good morning, Zac!" I chirped. I kept humming as I rustled through the pantry and the refrigerator, pulling out some eggs, bacon, and pancake mix. I could feel Zac's eyes on me. "What?" I asked, turning around to grab the frying pan. "Isn't a girl allowed to be happy in the morning?"

"A girl? Yes. You? No." he replied.

I smacked him lightly on the arm. "Smartass."

Zac made the pancakes, while I made the scrambled eggs and bacon. Taylor managed to find his way downstairs, whistling a happy tune as he skipped into the kitchen. "Wow, you're gayer than I thought." Zac said as he watched Taylor prance to the pot of coffee. I gaped at him for a moment before laughing. "Why is everyone so happy this morning?"

"We just are!" Taylor and I said at the same time. We both laughed.

"Great, I'm trapped with hyenas." Zac rolled his eyes, smiling as Isaac walked into the kitchen. We exchanged a smile, and he gave me a hug before pouring himself a glass of orange juice.

"Morning, guys!" he said chirpily.

"Chirping hyenas." Zac corrected his previous statement. Isaac looked at him in confusion, and I shrugged at him.

"Zac seems to think that one can't be happy in the morning, because he sucks." I explained. Isaac nodded and sat down next to Taylor at the breakfast bar. Taylor leapt up almost immediately. "Does Isaac have cooties, Tay?" I asked.

"Morning, Molly." Taylor said to my sister, ignoring my question. I nodded in understanding. Molly looked at him and gave him a feeble smile before giving me that "I need to talk to you ASAP" look that we share.

Will stepped into the kitchen a few moments later, and ignored all of us, pouring a cup of coffee for himself. "Good…" I began as he walked out of the kitchen. "Morning. What crawled up his ass?"

"Sin, can I talk to you for a minute?" Molly asked after we had eaten.

"Um…Sure." I followed her into the rehearsal parlor, and sat down on the couch. "What's up?"

"After you left, Taylor came into my room and he sang to me. Pretty much stated that he liked me, but did not kiss me. He left like a gentleman. Then Will storms into my room, asked me what the fuck was going on. Called Taylor a Hanson fag. But then he laid down with me, was really nice and sweet... Then he kissed me and...He stayed the night if you get my drift..."

"You fucked him?!?" I asked.

Molly rolled her eyes in frustration. "Do you always have to be so crude?"

"Yes." I replied. "You fucked Will?"

"Shut up."

"You love me. Is that why he's being so weird?" I asked.

"I don't know. Like, I don't know if he slept with me because he actually wanted to, or because he wanted to get laid, or what."

I hesitated. "Molly, if you promise not to get mad at me, can I tell you what I think?"

"Of course. You're my sister. I'll at least try not to get mad."

"Okay…I think Will was trying to one-up Taylor. Do you know what I mean? He saw that you were getting close to Taylor, and he was used to being the center of your attention…When he saw that he was losing that, he acted on it."

Molly sighed. "You're probably right."

We went back into the kitchen, where Zac and Taylor were finishing up their food. Will was in the kitchen, making chai. Isaac gathered the plates and silverware, and put them in the sink, with Zac's help. Taylor stepped into the parlor, looking over his shoulder adoringly at Molly. How cute. I think I could vomit, right now. Isaac and I stood by the table, pretending to rearrange things as I kept my eye on Will. If he was an asshole to my sister, I'd chop his dick off and shove it down his throat.

Isaac took my hand in his, and I looked up at him with a worried expression on my face. He leaned forward to hold a whispered conversation with me. "Don't worry about Molly - I'm sure she can take care of herself."

"Believe me, I'm not worried about Molly. I'm worried about what's going to happen to Will if he's a dick to my sister."

I watched as Will wordlessly handed a cup of chai to Molly, who took it hesitantly. The second Will left the room, she poured it down the kitchen sink.
